Vi Anderson is a multidisciplinary artist whose work interrogates identity, embodiment, and self-expression through the lens of race, gender, and sexuality. Her thesis series, Ungendered Flesh, uses latex to mimic Black skin and other materials as a replacement of the body, as a commentary on how bodies are institutionally categorized, perceived, and legitimized within culture.
Across visual communication, curation, and community engagement, Vi thinks in story. Sculpture, photography, social strategy, exhibition design all come from the same place for her: figuring out how to make people actually see and feel something, not just look at it.
